Greenland Center est situé près de Shiraz, dans la "nouvelle ville" Sadr, créée dans les années 1990 dans les collines au pied des monts Zagros dans le sud de l'Iran. Le centre est devenu le premier point d'attraction de la ville: il abrite un centre d'exposition et culturel, une salle pour les cérémonies et un immeuble de bureaux. Un centre sportif, un hébergement, un hôtel sont prévus.
La place centrale de l'ensemble est occupée par les bâtiments A et B conçus par le bureau de Shiraz Mehrdad Iravanian Architects. A est un café-galerie situé un peu plus haut sur la pente, B est un pavillon d'exposition, plus bas et plus près de la route. Ils sont reliés par un pont en béton; il y a aussi une rampe menant à travers un espace paysager.

Les architectes ont présenté ces deux pavillons comme une paire d '«opposés». Le café-galerie est décoré de cellules corten régulières qui le protègent du soleil et encadrent les vues spectaculaires. Ils reflètent l'autonomie de différentes parties du bâtiment: un restaurant au sous-sol, une galerie au rez-de-chaussée et un café tout en haut.
Le pavillon d'exposition, où les expositions sont combinées avec l'espace du restaurant, reflète une idée différente. Les cellules faites de panneaux blancs perdent ici leur individualité, se froissent et rétrécissent. Ainsi, si un café-galerie concerne l'indépendance des formes, alors le bâtiment B concerne leur influence mutuelle les unes sur les autres.
